Internet = Morons

I think the biggest revelation that came with the invention of the internet is finding out just how many thick as pig shit, moronic people there are in the world…Thanks to message boards.

What does this have to do with movies? Well, let’s be frank here folks, IMDB breeds the majority of the stupidity on the internet. Never has a board annoyed me so much…if ever i’m terminally ill, and i feel like wiping out a bunch of people on my last day on earth and i was having second thoughts, all i’d have to do to pep myself back up is read the IMDB boards.

One thing that happens on there alot is someone with a good sense of humour will post a completley off-the-wall rumour, that is meant to sound fake and basically make people laugh. And what’s nearly always the first reply…?

“You’re lying!” ….actually no “uR Lyin!!1!!11″

I don’t know about you but that makes me want to headbutt the screen whenever i see that. Of course he’s lying you tosser, thats the whole point, were you born without a sense of humour? Or did you just see this as an oppurtunity to make yourself look like you know what you’re talking about ?

My favourite thread title on there always crops on horror movie boards…

“Who dies and how?”

Yes, it’s some arsecandle who wants the whole movie spoiled for him/her…Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of a horror movie? You’re meant to be shocked when a character unexpectedly dies, and you’re not supposed to know when it’s coming. And if it’s a recent horror movie from Hollywood that they’re inquiring about, it’s even more ridiculous, most of them are so piss poor you can tell a mile off anyway, so why have some other person tell you?

I can sort of understand where these folks are coming from, i mean there has been times when i’ve read a bit about a movie and i’m interested in seeing it so i’ll do a bit of research to find out more about it in a sort of “ooh i wonder what crazy shit be contained therein” kind of way. But i don’t go right out to the Internet Moron Database and say “hey, i really want to see this movie, could someone do me a favour and completly ruin it for me?”

There has been times where i’ve replied to these threads and asked them why they do this, but i’ve never gotten an answer. Maybes they’re 12 years old, and they gather information on violent movies so they can relay the information to their friends and seem oh so very cool. Wankers, the lot of ‘em.

A great thread i saw recently was “Gayest Moment On Lost”….Yes, “gayest” moment. I really can’t say anything more about that, you can pretty much figure out for yourself the levels of stupidity we’re dealing with here.

It kinda makes me happy that SJCM is as quiet member wise as it is, because the more members you have the more fuckheads there’s likley to be…that still doesnt mean i dont want you to join the board and post a bit though
